Honda has become a principal sponsor in the world of E-Sports, and perhaps most notably, a principal sponsor of perhaps the largest E-Sports team in North America- Team Liquid. Liquid has won countless international championships and is known for their All-Star roster… and that’s in part due to the leader of their Counter-Strike team: Stewie2K.
As one of the most decorated CS:GO players in North America, Stewie2K is known for his aggressive play-style, where he’ll regularly push through smoke grenades to take out opposing teams. So when Honda approached us to produce this 15 second piece featuring Stewie, it was all about smoke.
We rented out Willow Springs Raceway in California and brought with us boxes of blue smoke grenades, as we took the new Civic Type-R through it’s paces on track. We ended our day by pushing through a dramatic wall of blue smoke- signifying Stewie2K’s signature in-game move.
